The Angelus Choir is a small group of Episcopal church members in the north Glasgow area who love singing.
Harry Monroe explains: “We originally set out to help churches who have only a small choir or, indeed, none at all. We have specialised in singing the office of Evensong for some time - hence our name - in places as far away as Lochgilphead, Pitlochry, Cumbernauld and Aberfoyle.
“These services have proved extremely popular. We always ask for all the local churches to be invited and we have been asked back to some.”
The choir is happy to supplement another choir or sing alone. Harry adds: “Because we are always looking at extending our repertoire to perform more complex anthems and Vespers, we are looking for more members. You do not have to have a brilliant voice, but it helps if you can read music, or follow a line, or just follow your neighbour!”
