Lay Readers “At Home”
On Friday evening November 18th Bishop Gregor hosted a very successful informal “wine and nibbles at home” for Diocesan Lay Readers and their spouses - the first time in living memory that such an event has been held.

Lead theft at St John’s, Baillieston
On the night of Sunday 18th September, thieves were once again on the roof of St John's Episcopal Church in Baillieston, removing lead only recently replaced following a major theft in March this year when most of the lead was ripped from the south side of the building. “We had only just began to dry out the walls which were soaked by rainfall following the theft of lead from our roof in March” said the Rev Andrew Richardson, the Rector of St John’s “the internal damage to the building is horrendous, the walls became so wet that radiators fell off and now we are contemplating further damage and further repair bills. This is not a victimless crime.”

Save the Children Visit to Ethiopia by the Diocesan Architect
The Diocesan Architect, Rebecca Cadie, has been selected to take part in a visit to the Amhara region of Ethiopia to see the work of Save the Children as part of a team of six volunteers from around the country.

King James Bible Reading Marathon at All Saint’s, Bearsden
What started out as a simple brain-storming annual fund-raising exercise turned out into a week-long Marathon! When Vestry Secretary Mairi Ross and a few members of the Vestry and congregation got together to discuss the annual fund-raising event, little did they realise what they were letting themselves in for! In the past they had successfully promoted Fetes and Fayres, Concerts and Suppers until Mairi hit upon the bright idea that as 2011 was the 400th Anniversary of the publication of the KJV why not try a Bible Reading event to celebrate it?
