Rector and Provost, St Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral, Dundee

The Bishop and Vestry of St Paul’s Cathedral, in the Diocese of Brechin, Scotland, are working towards the appointment of a new Rector and Provost in 2009. The post will be available in late 2009. We are looking for someone who has:

  • A proven track record as a parish priest within the Anglican Communion
  • Creativity and innovation in liturgy/worship which would translate into a Cathedral context
  • Skills in leading and enabling a diverse congregation
  • Skills in pastoral care
  • Skills in strategic leadership and strong management and administrative skills
  • An ability to forge strong links with other churches within the diocese and the city of Dundee
  • A willingness to work with us to continue to discover our future role in mission within Dundee

Diocese of Edinburgh Youth and Children Officer (Maternity Cover)

Salary/Salary level: £20,250 pro-rata (half-time post)

We seek an enthusiastic, approachable and charismatic person (lay or ordained) to assist those working with children and young people in the churches of the Diocese of Edinburgh to extend and develop their programmes for children and young people at local levels.

Skills with young people of secondary school age will be particularly valuable.

Part-time Incumbent: St Mary and St Peter, Montrose, with St David of Scotland, Inverbervie

Salary/Salary level: 50% of Standard Stipend

St Mary and St Peter’s Montrose is located on the Mid Links of the east coast town of Montrose, with excellent road and rail links on the main East coast line, and has a committed, welcoming and caring congregation.

The charge is rural and linked with St David of Scotland, Inverbervie, about 12 miles up the coast, which has a small, dynamic membership.

The position being offered is a part time post with a house at 50% of Standard Stipend which would suit an early or post-retiral candidate. Stipend support has been applied for.

The Church has well established ecumenical links and is involved with local chaplaincies.
