Scottish Churches Parliamentary Office Energy Briefing

Posted Monday 15 January 2007

The Scottish Churches Parliamentary Office has prepared a briefing paper on Energy Efficiency which comes out of the work done for the Church of Scotland's Church & Society Council towards their response to a recent consultation on future energy policy.

Prepared largely by Fred Dinning, there are four sections (Energy Efficiency, Renewal of Energy, Fossil Fuels and Carbon Capture, and Nuclear Power); each section has some technical and economic background and outlines some of the ethical issues which arise. Although the consultation period has now ended this is an ongoing discussion of high importance and the SCPO believes these form an excellent, accessible introduction to the debate.
