As a MiDGie participant you and your congregation could promote, support or find out more about some of the following Millenium Development Goals:

1Help eradicate extreme poverty and hunger »
Contribute to the work of groups such as Jubilee Scotland and the Fairtrade movement.
2Help achieve universal primary education »
Consider sponsoring a child with an organisation such as World Vision.
3Promote gender equality and empower women »
Help with micro-credit schemes, Fairtrade organisations and credit unions.
4Reduce child mortality »
Consider supporting the Voluntary Service Overseas and World Exchange.
5Improve maternal health »
Consider sponsoring a midwife or supporting organisations like Send-a-Cow or Farm Africa.
6Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases »
Mosquito nets as an alternative gift can have a tremedous effect on limiting the spread of malaria.

Try to make your carbon foot print as small as possible.
