Primus guest on BBC Radio Scotland’s Sally on Sunday programme
The Most Rev David Chillingworth, Bishop of St Andrews, Dunkeld & Dunblane and Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church is Sally Magnusson's 'hour-long guest' on this week's (Sunday 8 November) Sally on Sunday programme on BBC Radio Scotland. ‘Nettle that is alcohol misuse must be grasped’ says Scottish Bishop
The Rt Rev Dr Bob Gillies, Bishop of Aberdeen & Orkney is calling on Scottish Parliament to adopt the forthcoming Alcohol Bill, saying 'Some bits of the Bill are going to be controversial, especially minimum pricing. However if our nation and each of us within it is to have a healthy future then the nettle that is alcohol misuse must be grasped.'

Meeting of primates and presiding bishops of the Porvoo Communion
Climate change, diaspora congregations and the understanding of communion amidst the current economic crisis were among the topics discussed as the primates and presiding bishops in the Porvoo Communion met in Porvoo, Finland from 12 to 13 October.

‘Come as you are’ - Churches invite people ‘Back to Church’ this Sunday
Churches across Scotland are expecting to double their congregations this Sunday, as part of the ‘Back to Church Sunday’ initiative. In this year of Homecoming, Episcopal churches across Scotland are inviting people ‘back to church’ this Sunday (27 September).

Primus responds to decision by Justice Minister Kenny MacAskill to release Lockerbie bomber
The Most Rev David Chillingworth, Bishop of St Andrews, Dunkeld and Dunblane and Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church says: “The decision to release Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi is a brave political choice taken in the face of strong pressure from outside Scotland. We respect and honour the courage which the Scottish Government has shown.

Piskie on the Plinth
The Rev Jim Wynn-Evans, a member of Edinburgh Diocese, will be on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square, London from 8am-9am tomorrow (20 August). Jim will mime a typical sunday service from his church (Old St Paul’s in Edinburgh) and will appeal for support for the restoration and renewal project at Old St Paul’s. You can watch Jim live on the plinth on www.oneandother.co.uk .

Government urged to reconsider its decision to proceed with a Trident replacement
The Convener of the Church in Society Committee, the Rev Ian Barcroft, calls on the government to reconsider its decision to proceed with a Trident replacement, saying "It is very difficult to defend the possession of weapons of mass destruction with a conditional intent to use them in terms of traditional Christian teaching.”
