The Most Rev Dr Idris Jones, Bishop of Glasgow & Galloway and Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church, was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by the University of Wales, Lampeter during the University's Degree Day ceremonies on Friday 6 July. The fellowship honours individuals who have made a distinctive contribution to their field or to public life.

After receiving the Fellowship, The Most Rev Dr Idris Jones says "To be honoured by my own University is a privilege that I find almost impossible to express. Lampeter was a seminal influence on my life and I remain profoundly grateful for all that I was given in the course of the 'Lampeter experience'. Today Lampeter continues to grow and develop and pioneer new access to learning. I am proud to have been given a new connection with an institution that is in the forefront of provision of tertiary education."

Thursday 28 August 2008

'Almighty God, whose Son Jesus Christ is the resurrection and the life: raise us, who trust in him, from the death of sin to the life of righteousness, that we may seek those things which are above, where he reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.'
