In commenting on the present outcome of the General Election The Most Rev David Chillingworth, Bishop of St Andrews, Dunkeld & Dunblane and Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church says “We pray regularly for our political leaders. This is a moment at which they particularly need our support in prayer. A gruelling election campaign is going to be followed by a difficult period of discussion before the shape of the next government will emerge. But we also give thanks that the election campaign was able to draw forth a new interest and engagement from people across the community - a sign of new health in our political process.”
