Business got underway with a welcome from the Primus to the delegates and guests.  Preliminary business included welcoming Delegates from other churches.

The Minutes of the General Synod of 12th to 14th of June 2008 were approved, and various points of housekeeping and business were introduced.
Professor Patricia Peattie then introduced Motion 2, the Annual Report and Accounts of the Church for the financial year ending 31st December 2008, which was accepted. The implications of future budgetary pressures were presented.

Prayer for the Week

Candle

Saturday 7 November 2009

'Almighty God, whose Son Jesus Christ is the resurrection and the life: raise us, who trust in him, from the death of sin to the life of righteousness, that we may seek those things which are above, where he reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.'
