Bishop of Aberdeen and Orkney meets with North East and Island MSPs
- The Rt Rev Dr Bob Gillies, Bishop of Aberdeen & Orkney, has visited the Scottish Parliament to meet with MSPs representing the North East of Scotland and the Northern Islands, for a full and frank exchange of views on the issues surrounding minimum pricing of alcohol and the controversial use of heroin as a substitute to the methadone programme for drug addiction.

Church repair goes interactive

A new CD Rom produced by Historic Scotland will give advice on a range of building techniques to guide this vital work.The INFORM Church CD looks at the best ways of dealing with damp, roof repairs, timber decay, ventilation, energy efficiency, masonry and pointing repairs in traditional buildings as well as the care of graveyards.

‘Nettle that is alcohol misuse must be grasped’ says Scottish Bishop
- The Rt Rev Dr Bob Gillies, Bishop of Aberdeen & Orkney is calling on Scottish Parliament to adopt the forthcoming Alcohol Bill, saying 'Some bits of the Bill are going to be controversial, especially minimum pricing. However if our nation and each of us within it is to have a healthy future then the nettle that is alcohol misuse must be grasped.'
