Title
Listening to Prayer, Love and Faith in Local Action Consultation Event
Date
Saturday 14 February 2009
Time
10am to 3pm
Description

The aim of the day is to inform the Church in Society's future work programme and examine how best to support churches in their response to local community need. The Committee wants to strengthen its networks with the variety of people and church groups who are involved in bridging the gap between faithful and civic life.

The day will start by examining love in action through themes of listening, identity, belonging, power and negotiating relationships. It will then look at the added value of being a church in a local community: Moving from reflection to solutions. How do we become more effective? How does Love in Action feed back into Church life? What can the Provincial Church in Society Committee do to help dioceses? Woven through the day will be discussion in groups and opportunities for prayer and reflection.

Location
Room TBC, General Synod Office, 21 Grosvenor Crescent, Edinburgh

Prayer for the Week

Candle

Saturday 7 November 2009

'Almighty God, whose Son Jesus Christ is the resurrection and the life: raise us, who trust in him, from the death of sin to the life of righteousness, that we may seek those things which are above, where he reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.'
