About the Theological Institute of the Scottish Episcopal Church

The Theological Institute of the Scottish Episcopal Church (TISEC) offers training to those entering authorised ministry in the Scottish Episcopal Church and in the Methodist Church in Scotland. It has oversight of Lifelong Lay Learning, and of Continuing Ministerial Development for those already in active ministry.

TISEC has a provincial office, based in Edinburgh, and a dispersed operation throughout all seven dioceses of the SEC: this site includes details of our provincial and diocesan staff

TISEC’s work is overseen by the SEC’s Ministry Development Committee, which is convened by Dr Peter Smart. This Committee reports to the Mission and Ministry Board.
