Faith and Belief in Scotland - Young People’s Consultation Event

Posted Monday 14 April 2008

Sorry about the this being posted so close to the deadline:

Dear Youth Network

The Scottish Government has organised an innovative consultation event for young people to give their views on faith and belief. The event is the first step towards the development of a strategic framework to promote positive relations among and between faith and belief communities in Scotland. This event will provide young people with a unique opportunity to directly influence Government policy. It is taking place in Glasgow on Monday 28 April from 9:30am-5:00pm and is open to anyone aged 16-25 with an interest in faith and belief. It is not necessary to be a member of a religious community in order to participate as we are keen to have representation from those who hold a variety of different viewpoints, including belief systems such as humanism and secularism.

Do not feel that only one person may come along as we would like individuals to represent themselves.  There are 100 places.

Please forward this information as widely as possible

Details are available online at: Faith & Belief Youth Consultation, or alternatively please contact Barbara Schuler for further information (Barbara.Schuler@scotland.gsi.gov.uk Tel: 0131 244 0560).

Kind regards

Joyce McVarrie

'Almighty God, whose Son Jesus Christ is the resurrection and the life: raise us, who trust in him, from the death of sin to the life of righteousness, that we may seek those things which are above, where he reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.'
