Director of Mixed Mode Training, Scottish Episcopal Institute

The Scottish Episcopal Church seeks to appoint a Director of Mixed Mode Training to its Institute, responsible for training and formation for ministry. This is a new post created for the purpose of developing and delivering the creation of a new pathway for the ordained ministry to enable candidates to train in local churches and mission contexts. The Institute is based at the General Synod Office, Edinburgh but there would be scope for some home working within Scotland. This vacancy is being re-advertised. The previous requirement that the post holder be an ordained Anglican has been removed.

Candidates applying for the post will have:

  • proven ability in encouraging and growing churches, knowledge of current
  • ecclesiological trends and an entrepreneurial spirit
  • a postgraduate qualification in ministry or missiology at least to Masters level
  • a passion for theological and vocational training to equip students to foster vibrant church life through evangelism, church-planting and discipleship
  • administrative competence and a capacity to network well
