Cultural Diversity, Faith and Ageing

July 20, 2017

The Rt Rev Bruce Cameron will chair a conversation (as part of year’s Just Festival)  on ‘Cultural Diversity, Faith and Ageing’ – on 16 August 2017 at 7.30pm.  Click here for more information and to book tickets

Chair: Rt Rev Bruce Cameron, Faith in Older People
Panel members: Rabbi David Rose, Rev John Bell, Trishna Singh OBE

Discussions surrounding ageing often tend to focus on the negative aspects of old age rather than the contribution made by older people to society. Religion and spiritual needs are often overlooked due to a stronger emphasis put on physical care needs.

This conversation will provide an opportunity to consider ageing from different cultural and faith perspectives, and discuss the importance of faith to many older people to better understand the supportive responses from different faith communities. The conversation will explore what different theologies say about ageing and older people.
