Investiture at Buckingham Palace for Annalu Waller

May 3, 2016

The Rev Professor Annalu Waller, Chair of Human Communication Technologies at the University of Dundee and Honorary Anglican Chaplain at the University was awarded an OBE in this year’s New Year’s Honours for her services to people with complex communication needs, and is to attend an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Friday 6 May.

Professor Walller says “I am delighted that I will be accompanied to my investiture at Buckingham Palace by my mother, who is coming from Cape Town. The award of an OBE for services to people with complex communication needs reflects the outstanding work of my research team, students and volunteers who continue to strive to improve the design of voice output communication aids. Communication is fundamental to being human and is the key to building relationships and valuing others – even in the smallest smile, let alone enabling someone to share their story with others.”
