My Ark for Nature

March 14, 2017

My Ark for Nature is an exhibition of Scottish wildlife art by Jonathan Sainsbury, a collaboration between artist and St Andrew’s Cathedral, Inverness. Jonathan, a Signature member of the Society of Animal Artists, built the Ark as a wooden display space for the inaugural BBC Countryfile Live Event, to make the point that wildlife art, in celebrating Nature, is an aspect of conservation. This understanding of the wonder of Nature and human responsibility towards it, brings Jonathan and the Cathedral together. The Ark will be installed in the Lady Chapel at the Cathedral  and open to the public from 2-7 June.

The Ark shows originals, prints and cards for sale, with a percentage going to Cathedral funds. Jonathan offers a glimpse behind the scenes into a wildlife art studio where visitors can watch him drawing and painting, ask him questions, share their own stories about Nature and take away free materials from conservation charities.

Groups are welcome and there is ramped access into the exhibition space.
