O God make speed to save us;
O Lord make haste to help us.

the one you have made so strong for yourself.

18. And so will we never turn away from you; *
give us life, that we may call upon your name.

Conclusion

from 1 John 4

1. Beloved let us love one another,*
for love is of God;

2. And those who love are born of God*
and know God.

3. Those who do not love do not know God,*
for God is love.

4. In this the love of God was made manifest among us,*
that God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him.

5 In this is love: not that we loved God,*
but that God loved us and sent his Son to be the expiation for our sins.

Wisdom of Solomon 3:1-9

But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment will ever touch them. In the eyes of the foolish they seemed to have died, and their departure was thought to be a disaster, and their going from us to be their destruction; but they are at peace. For though in the sight of others they were punished, their hope is full of immortality. Having been disciplined a little, they will receive great good, because God tested them and found them worthy of himself; like gold in the furnace he tried them, and like a sacrificial burnt-offering he accepted them. In the time of their visitation they will shine forth, and will run like sparks through the stubble. They will govern nations and rule over peoples, and the Lord will reign over them for ever. Those who trust in him will understand truth, and the faithful will abide with him in love, because grace and mercy are upon his holy ones, and he watches over his elect.

Revelation 19:1, 4-10

After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, ‘Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power to our God, And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshipped God who is seated on the throne, saying, ‘Amen. Hallelujah!’ And from the throne came a voice saying, ‘Praise our God, all you his servants, and all who fear him, small and great.’ Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty thunder-peals, crying out, ‘Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready; to her it has been granted to be clothed with fine linen, bright and pure’— for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. Lord, have mercy upon us.

O Lord, in your mercy:
