PSALMODY
Antiphon: As the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, and the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress,* so our eyes look to you, O Lord our God.
Psalm 123.2f
Opening (from Psalm 119)
you established the earth, and it abides.
2. By your decree these continue to this day,*
for all things are your servants.
3. I will never forget your commandments,*
because by them you give me life.
4. I see that all things come to an end,*
but your commandment has no bounds.
Glory ...
or a suitable Hymn
89. O Lord, your word is everlasting; *
it stands firm in the heavens.
90. Your faithfulness remains from one generation to another; *
you established the earth, and it abides.
91. By your decree these continue to this day, *
for all things are your servants.
92. If my delight had not been in your law, *
I should have perished in my affliction.
93. I will never forget your commandments, *
because by them you give me life.
94. I am yours; oh, that you would save me, *
for I study your commandments!
95. Though the wicked lie in wait for me to destroy me, *
I will apply my mind to your decrees.
96. I see that all things come to an end, *
but your commandment has no bounds.
Mem
97. Oh, how I love your law! *
All the day long it is in my mind.
98. Your commandment has made me wiser than my enemies, *
and it is always with me.
99. I have more understanding than all my teachers, *
for your decrees are my study.
100. I am wiser than the elders, *
because I observe your commandments.
101. I restrain my feet from every evil way, *
that I may keep your word.
102. I do not shrink from your judgements, *
because you yourself have taught me.
103. How sweet are your words to my taste! *
They are sweeter than honey to my mouth.
104. Through your commandments I gain understanding; *
therefore I hate every lying way.
Glory …

SONG OF MARY
Song of Mary Antiphon: Abide with us, Lord, * for it is [towards] evening, and the day is far spent.
1 My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,*my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour;
2 for he has looked with favour on his lowly servant;*
from this day all generations will call me blessed.
3 The Almighty has done great things for me*
and holy is his name.
4 He has mercy on those who fear him*
in every generation.
5 He has shown the strength of his arm;*
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
6 He has cast down the mighty from their thrones*
and has lifted up the lowly.
7 He has filled the hungry with good things,*
and the rich he has sent away empty.
8 He has come to the help of his servant Israel,*
for he has remembered his promise of mercy,
9 the promise he made to our forebears,*
to Abraham and his children for ever.
Glory to the Father... (may be said by all)

PRAYERS
Lord, have mercy upon us.
Christ, have mercy upon us.
Lord, have mercy upon us.
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Do not bring us to the time of trial,
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours,
now and for ever. Amen.
Collect of the Day
Almighty and merciful God:
in your goodness keep from us all that is harmful;
that, being ready both in body and soul,
we may freely accomplish your will;
through Jesus Christ, our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, world without end.
Amen
Lord God almighty, come and dispel the darkness from our hearts, that in the radiance of your brightness we may know you, the only unfading light, glorious in all eternity.
Amen.
Let us bless the Lord:
Thanks be to God!
The God of hope fill us with all joy and peace in believing:
through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
