O God make speed to save us;
O Lord make haste to help us.
Glory to God, Source of all Being, Eternal Word, and Holy Spirit;*

PSALMODY
Antiphon: Where can I go from your Spirit?* Where can I flee from your presence?
(Psalm 139.7)
Opening (from Psalm 139)
your works are wonderful, and I know it well.
2. My body was not hidden from you,*
while I was being made in secret and woven in the depths of the earth.
3. How deep I find your thoughts, O God!*
how great is the sum of them!
4. If I were to count them, they would be more in number than the sand;*
to count them all, my life span would need to be like yours.
Glory ...
or a suitable Hymn
49. Remember your word to your servant, *
because you have given me hope.
50. This is my comfort in my trouble, *
that your promise gives me life.
51. The proud have derided me cruelly, *
but I have not turned from your law.
52. When I remember your judgements of old, *
O Lord, I take great comfort.
53. I am filled with a burning rage, *
because of the wicked who forsake your law.
54. Your statutes have been like songs to me *
wherever I have lived as a stranger.
55. I remember your name in the night, O Lord, *
and dwell upon your law.
56. This is how it has been with me, *
because I have kept your commandments.
Heth
57. You only are my portion, O Lord; *
I have promised to keep your words.
58. I entreat you with all my heart, *
be merciful to me according to your promise.
59. I have considered my ways *
and turned my feet toward your decrees.
60. I hasten and do not tarry *
to keep your commandments.
61. Though the cords of the wicked entangle me, *
I do not forget your law.
62. At midnight I will rise to give you thanks, *
because of your righteous judgements.
63. I am a companion of all who fear you *
and of those who keep your commandments.
64. The earth, O Lord, is full of your love; *
instruct me in your statutes.
Teth
65. O Lord, you have dealt graciously with your servant, *
according to your word.
66. Teach me discernment and knowledge, *
for I have believed in your commandments.
67. Before I was afflicted I went astray, *
but now I keep your word.
68. You are good and you bring forth good; *
instruct me in your statutes.
69. The proud have smeared me with lies, *
but I will keep your commandments with my whole heart.
70. Their heart is gross and fat, *
but my delight is in your law.
71. It is good for me that I have been afflicted, *
that I might learn your statutes.
72. The law of your mouth is dearer to me *
than thousands in gold and silver.
Glory …

vindicated in the Spirit,

Response Psalm 105.5
Remember the marvels the Lord has done.
Remember the marvels the Lord has done.
The wonders and the judgements of the mouth of the Lord.
What wonders God has done!
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
Remember the marvels the Lord has done.
SONG OF MARY
Song of Mary Antiphon: Our spirits rejoice * in God our Saviour.
1 My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,*my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour;
2 for he has looked with favour on his lowly servant;*
from this day all generations will call me blessed.
3 The Almighty has done great things for me*
and holy is his name.
4 He has mercy on those who fear him*
in every generation.
5 He has shown the strength of his arm;*
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
6 He has cast down the mighty from their thrones*
and has lifted up the lowly.
7 He has filled the hungry with good things,*
and the rich he has sent away empty.
8 He has come to the help of his servant Israel,*
for he has remembered his promise of mercy,
9 the promise he made to our forebears,*
to Abraham and his children for ever.
Glory to the Father... (may be said by all)

PRAYERS
Lord, have mercy upon us.
Christ, have mercy upon us.
Lord, have mercy upon us.
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Do not bring us to the time of trial,
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours,
now and for ever. Amen.
Collect of the Day
Almighty God,
grant that with our minds set always on your wisdom and love,
we may pursue both in word and deed
those things that are pleasing in your sight;
through Jesus Christ, our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, world without end.
Amen
Lord God almighty, come and dispel the darkness from our hearts, that in the radiance of your brightness we may know you, the only unfading light, glorious in all eternity.
Amen.
Let us bless the Lord:
Thanks be to God!
The God of hope fill us with all joy and peace in believing:
through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
