Speak Out: People’s Politics

March 31, 2016

An invitation has been sent from the Church of Scotland regarding an event taking place in advance of the 2016 Scottish elections. Speak out: People’s Politics is to be a national event, hosted by the Church of Scotland, bringing together the leaders of Scotland’s political parties to discuss the issues facing our modern society with those who experience them.

The Moderator of the General Assembly will chair the event which will take place at the General Assembly Hall, on the Mound, Edinburgh on 4 April at 6:30pm. If you wish to attend, you are asked to register for free at: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/speak-out-peoples-politics-tickets-21449631425

The Church of Scotland indicates that the aim of the event is “to give those with direct experience of some of the current failings within our political system the opportunity to speak from their perspective. That politicians will then follow this with their response. The event will be based around findings from the Speak Out consultation held last year by the Church of Scotland where 11,000 people voiced their opinions on what a fairer and more just Scotland would look like.”
