Vacancy: House for Duty, St Mary’s, Carden Place, Aberdeen

October 16, 2025

We are a small, energetic, and committed congregation in the west end of Aberdeen, seeking a Priest to lead us into the next chapter of our mission story.

We are looking for someone who will

  • love God and the congregation, with the leadership skills to gather us together after a fallow period;
  • embrace our traditional style of worship and open table policy;
  • possess strong pastoral skills, and a willingness to visit the sick and elderly of the congregation;
  • have the imagination and energy to lead outreach in the community;
  • have a willingness to play an active part in the social life of the church.

We can offer:

  • Supportive and prayerful lay leadership;
  • The chance to lead a small ministry team with active lay assistance;
  • Scope for mission in the wider community;
  • A well-maintained late Victorian church with a small hall and office, in a residential / office business neighbourhood,
  • A modern rectory in a good state of repair within walking distance.
  • The opportunity to live in Aberdeen, a lively city with universities, a teaching hospital, easy access to mountains and sea, and good transport connections.
