Aberdeen & Orkney Episcopal election

As previously indicated, the Mandate to commence the process to elect a new Bishop for the vacant See of Aberdeen & Orkney came to an end on 19 August and as a result the right of election has lapsed to the Episcopal Synod, which comprises all of the Diocesan Bishops.

The Bishops have given the matter preliminary consideration and have decided, as a next step, to meet for a day of prayer and discernment in All Saints Church, Whiterashes in the Diocese of Aberdeen and Orkney on 24 October. It is the Bishops intention that, in due course, a meeting of the Episcopal Synod will be convened to formally elect a new Bishop of Aberdeen & Orkney.

The College of Bishops asks for your prayers as it prepares to meet on 24 October.
