In responding further to the news of the helicopter crash off Sumburgh the Rt Rev Dr Robert Gillies, Bishop of Aberdeen & Orkney, has added to his statement of last night, "News has come to me overnight of the sad and tragic loss of life in the seas of Shetland. My heart and my prayers go out to those families and friends who have to face this personal bereavement. Today will be a day of deep grieving for them with many more to follow as the enormity of their personal loss becomes ever more real." Bishop Bob added "The North Sea is a difficult and dangerous place in which to work and I salute the commitment and bravery of those in the rescue services for the work they have been carrying out in potentially hazardous conditions for them as well. I am asking every one of our churches to remember the survivors and those who have been killed, along with their families, in prayers in our churches tomorrow, Sunday."” -ends-
