The meeting of the Episcopal Synod scheduled for today [Monday 5 September] has been postponed.
The meeting, which was arranged to consider the appeal by the Rt Rev Anne Dyer against her suspension as Bishop of Aberdeen & Orkney, has been rescheduled for Monday 19 September.
The Episcopal Synod members agreed to the postponement after one of the involved parties requested more time to prepare legal representation. Both parties to the appeal had been asked to make submissions to the Episcopal Synod.
Bishop Dyer was suspended by the Primus on 10 August following the lodging of formal complaints. After notice of appeal was received, the suspension was set aside pending the outcome of the appeal to the Episcopal Synod.
