The Scottish Episcopal Church (SEC) is pleased to provide liturgical material which has been prepared by the Rev Canon James Milne, the new Convener of the provincial Liturgy Committee, for use in connection with the Commonwealth Games. The materials comprise:-
– Propers at a Eucharist for the Commonwealth
– Prayer for the Games
– Readings suggested for Services during the Games
– Hymns suggested for Services during the Games
– A Litany at the time of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games
– A Service of the Word for use during the Commonwealth Games
The materials have been authorised for use in the United Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway during the Commonwealth Games 2014 by the Bishop of Glasgow and Galloway under the terms of Canon 22 Section 4 and have been circulated to all Clergy in that Diocese. The other diocesan bishops have also indicated their agreement to the use of the materials in their own respective dioceses under Canon 22.
