The October edition of Inspires Online is now available, rounding up news and stories from across the Scottish Episcopal Church.
The edition features the remarkable work of Mustard Seed in Edinburgh during the pandemic, when the Rev Rich Cornfield and his team supported those in need with a huge expansion of their existing ‘Soul Food’ initiative. At one stage, the team was providing 600 meals per week during lockdown.
“When Edinburgh was empty, we were darting all around the city, delivering food parcels and takeaways for three months,” said Rich. “The Scottish Government had done a great job getting a roof over the heads of those who found themselves homeless but many struggled accessing food provision. And many of them were housed miles away from their normal lives. They might have had a place to stay, but many of them didn’t have facilities for cooking food.”
