The Primus requests prayer for himself and the other Primates of the Anglican Communion as they gather today for a three-day meeting in Jordan, followed by a short pilgrimage. The Primates’ Meeting is one of the Anglican Communion’s “Instruments of Communion”. More information regarding the meeting is available at the Anglican Communion News Service here.
The Primus has suggested using the following prayer from the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia:-
God of Peace and Unity,
You who made the many as one body;
Foot and hand;
Eye and tongue;
Head and heart;
Each different and unique;
Each in need of the other;
Grant that we might find peace in our bonding,
and unity in our difference;
many members woven together as one body,
for Your glory and not ours alone;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.
