Scottish Episcopal Church to hold Prayer Weekend for Political and Community Reconciliation

September 27, 2019

Following the announcement earlier this month, the College of Bishops of the Scottish Episcopal Church has asked each congregation to open their doors on the weekend of 5 and 6 October to create a space for people in their community to offer prayer. The College hopes that the Church can offer this opportunity for reflection on the continuing divisions that we see across the country as political upheaval continues to cause concern for many people.

The Most Rev Mark Strange, Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church says “this is something we can do for those we are called to serve: offer a space and some suggested themes. We are not attempting to offer answers, simply the chance to pray and reflect. We know that the many gifted ministers within this Church will have resources at hand to use over the weekend but we will offer some extra ideas in the coming days. We would be delighted to hear of any suggestions for themes and prayers. Please contact the Digital Communications Co-ordinator.
